Boost Tips: Boosts are those lil icons that you can fill with family members that will provide you extra boosts when doing jobs, fighting, robbing or collecting properties. From left to right they are: Double Job Mastery (for next 20 Jobs), Double Job Loot (for next 20 jobs), Attacks Cost No Stamina (next 50 fights), Double Attack (next 65 fights), Triple Rewards for Double Stamina (for next 3 boards), Win first 3 Robs next 3 Boards, Double Property Take, Defense from Robbing for 8 hours. You can use one of these spots every 8 hours.

The first two are what I feel to be the most important and should be the most commonly used. The first, Double Job Mastery does just what it sounds like, you get 2x mastery each job. If you normally get 4x mastery, you will get 8x with this boost. 8x=16x, 10x=20x and so on. This will allow you to blow thru cities pretty quickly. I tend to use these on jobs that require consumables. By doing this you will use less consumables in the long run and won't need as many to complete the different city tiers. Those are the first jobs I go for when activating this boost. I also only use these when I need more then 2X to level up. Let me clarify, you need 100% to master any job in any tier, let's say you get 4X without the boost, with boost you get 8X, so I only do the jobs until I get to 96% (or 12 times for you non math people), that last 4% is the normal rate and will require the same loot (if any) that a double mastery job would require. So in essence you would be wasting 1 of your double boosts. Sure, 1 boost isn't much, how many tiers are there in each city?? How many areas in each city?? How many cities using these boosts now?? It adds up quick. Again play smarter ... The second job boost is the double loot drop, I use these on the jobs that drop city consumables. Sure you can use them on the normal jobs, but why do that if you need consumables to complete the tiers anyways?? I try not to use the double mastery boosts on the jobs that drop the consumables as I feel this is just shooting yourself in the foot. You will need some consumables sooner or later. Again you should get them when the energy cost is lowest.

The next two, the fighting ones can be VERY handy when you are close to leveling and you either can't use a stamina/energy pack or have used your stamina/energy from your Brazil property. Most people will collect 2 xp for 1 energy in successful fights (remember some cities require 5 stamina per regular fight). So 50 fights is 500 XP if you win them all, higher fight mastery levels get more XP/Stamina. You have 3 cities that use those boosts, that's 1500 XP if played right. The second of the first two, double attack, does just what it sounds like, it doubles your personal attack. Handy when icing bullies ... Alot of times they (bullies) will leave you alone if you can ice them back, guess what?? Now you can .. or at least now you have a better chance. I've also used them from time to time in Family Battles, if someone heals in Chicago and has massive amounts of health, this will help knock it down quicker then normal bringing them back into ice range, also if the score is close using the city boosts could keep you one step ahead and pull out a win in the end.

The next two boosts, triple rewards for double stamina and win first 3 fights on next 3 boards, I really don't use much. My robbing success is pretty good so the winning the first 3 fights isn't much of a boost since I could probably win those anyways. The only time I have ever used them is when I have a mission that requires me to successfully rob a specific property. It's usually one of the higher properties, requiring more stamina and there are usually one two or three on a board. This will help you reach that goal. Triple rewards for double stamina means just that, it will take double stamina to rob a property but you get 3 times the XP. Again that can be handy in one of those situations where you need just a lil more XP then normal to level.

The last two are the property boosts. One will give double collection from the next take, VERY handy in Brazil to collect double stamina and double energy and VERY handy in Chicago with the health boosts. All that health can be handy in family battles, I don't have to go over the benefits of doubling your stamina and energy takes from Brazil ...

It's no secret there are ALOT of users with multiple accts. To be good at the bulk of Facebook games (the way I see it anyways) you have to either a. spend money, b. have wicked awesome friends that click all your shit or c. have multiple accts and click your own shit yourself. This write up will go over C. Now with that said, it takes a special person to be able to handle multiple accts efficiently. You need to be able to multitask very well, you should know your keyboard shortcuts and become familiar with your game screen layout. You don't need those abilities to do this ... this is a primer if you will. Using this guide will better prepare you to be able to use multi's efficiently down the road.

Basically what I'm doing here is showing you how to setup your browser session using multiple tabs to allow you to "rapidly click" your links (or someone else's link, any Facebook game link will work) without having to go thru your page (or your friends page or those pesky timeline layouts that everyone LOVES!!). I'm not pretending that I came up with this idea, I also didn't copy it from anyone else .. if that makes sense. OK so here we go ...

The first thing you are going to need is multiple accts. Unfortunately that part I can't help you with. I own or have access to a dozen different domains and pretty much any email address that I want on them ... That's the easy part for me. That is the hard part for some people but with the massive amounts of free email services that are out there now a days it shouldn't be too hard. So ... go get you some accts!!

Second thing, you'll need a GOOD browser ... I don't like IE and for what we are doing I don't think it will work right. In the following screen shots I am using Google's Chrome browser. You WILL need an extension to do some of the stuff I am doing. In Firefox you don't need an extension, the stuff you need is built in. Opera gives me ALOT of weirdness if I happen to click on links very fast, like in a battle in Mafia Wars. It will start highlighting the screen instead of sending the click to the server and other nonsense, so I'm not sure if this will work there either. The extension that I use in Chrome is called "Reload all tabs" you can find the link down the bottom of this post.

Now, login to Facebook with your main account or rather the acct you want to get all the gifts, open your game and post your requests. These are the public requests that get posted on your wall for all your (wicked awesome??) friends to click on. I generally post about 10 things at a time, job help requests, family property part requests, building parts ... You can see them all on the news feed:

Log out of Facebook and login as one of your aliases. Find the links you want to click and open a new tab for each request. The more requests you are clicking on the slower the browser will run, the longer this whole process will take and your browser crashing is more likely, you will have to experiment with your browser on your machine to see how it will handle all this. I use the CTRL key while clicking links to open in new background tabs, you should end up with what I have below:

After the tabs have all finished loading I go thru them all to make sure there are no errors and everything went smooth. when you are sure it did go back to the first tab (mine is on the left) and log out of Facebook. The background tabs should stay put and not freak out ...

Now here's the fun part ... login as your second alias (your third acct). I set my browser to remember user names and passwords, so I have a drop down list of my "characters" so to speak. If you switch tabs you will see you are logged in as one person on the firs tab, and the rest still show the old acct that just logged out. Now, reload all the tabs. In Firefox you can right click on one of the tabs and "Reload all tabs" is an option.

On Chrome with the addon installed and enabled, there is a red refresh icon in the upper right hand corner. When you refresh the tabs you should get a visual indicator (little round circle spinning) that it's refreshing:

When they are all finished loading, once again I go thru and check for errors, max help received, too late to help, etc. When I get those I close those tabs so the next refresh will go a little faster. Depending on how many accts and tabs you are dealing with that may not happen. If you are dealing with alot of tabs and alot of accts you will see this about 3 or 4 cycles in ... I can start out with 8 - 10 tabs and by the end I am usually down to 3.

Continue this until you run out of accts!!

Chrome reload all plugin:

http://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/midkcinmplflbiflboepnahkboeonkam
Just to demonstrate, here's a war with someone with no top mafia, it will usually take 5 hits, 6 maximum. If you have strong top mafia in each location it can be as many as 14 hits. That can make the difference between a 3 second war that you loose or a war that you have enough time to call for help, get backup and win.

OK, new active directory setup using Server 2K8 R2. One physical node (hulkhogan) and 2 virtual nodes running on the same VM host (machoman and brethart), these will be clustered file servers and probably print servers [cluster in a box]. Everything was fine until I upgraded the host to VSphere 5.0. I started getting all sorts of nonsense. Couldn't login, wouldn't keep saved logins, I happen to notice that the time was WAY off. Like 2 years off ... Double checked NTP settings, they were set right but wouldn't change time because 2 years is outside the allowed delta. I changed date/time on the 2 VMs, rebooted, went back to 2 years off. Check the bios of the VM, same thing, could set it then upon reboot it was 2 years out again. Turned out my new VM host's hardware clock was 2 years off?! I just assumed adding to the existing VMWare cluster it would sync with the VCenter server or one of the other hosts. So I fixed that thru the VCenter GUI, time started working again. Then I noticed active directory changes weren't getting pushed around though, user groups, file security, etc only existed on one server and wasn't propegating properly. Lots of "Event ID 2042: It has been too long since this machine replicated" errors in the server logs for all three servers. I ended up having to make a reg change to get them to sync.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NTDS\Parameters\Allow Replication With Divergent and Corrupt Partner

Dword: 1 (1 = allow, 0 = disallow)

Let it sync, once replication was showing no errors (repadmin /showrepl) I set that key to be 0. Hopefully this won't happen again but from perusing the internet not many have had this exact issue ...
Posted: Thu Apr 12, 2012 11:01 pm

For those of you that may have never been in a family before one of the family only features is the Boss Fights. This is a quick breakdown ...

First thing to know, there are 3 "pack" types:

Bruiser - gives you the ability to supply others with packs that will allow them to do double damage, you get 5 hits so make them count!

Rackateer - gives you the ability to supply others with packs that will allow them to keep their stamina usage to a minimum (normal stamina usage is 5 stamina per attack, if you go above 18 on your fatigue scale your stamina usage will go up until you bring it back down). Each attack will add 3 to your fatique meter, normally it will reset at 18 with a rackateer pack.

Arson - Ability to supply others with packs that will bring the boss's "rage" down (normal range is 0-100, anything higher and you do less damage per attack causing you to waste weapons, weapon combos or stamina and more importantly you will actually enrage other family members). Boss rage will reset at or around 100 when you attack with either a weapon and stamina when you have an arson pack available. Each hit adds 7 to the rage meter.

This screen shows you info you need BEFORE you enter the boss fight for the first time. The numbers below each pack represent the numbers of those types of fighters already in the fight. It's best to have more arsonists and rackateers then bruisers.

You can click the "Get more ammo" and request more bullets to be used in the boss fight.

Family boss fight loot is some of the BEST in the game. It behooves you to participate in these fights. Even if you join the fight and do nothing more then hand out packs and put up a small score on the board, you will get free loot.

In the above screen shot there is a lot going on, I will explain most of it here. At the very top you see the packs and numbers of hits that YOU have left. As you can see I have 0 bruiser hits, 4 arson hits and 0 rack hits. On the left side you can see everyone that has joined the fight and their fighter type, sometimes this list can be long, especially in larger families. To request a pack you click on the little question mark bubble icon. You can also use RPs to purchase them if you want. It's best to click the request pack icon and then ask in the family chat window.

In the upper left next to your avatar you have a counter, mine is 5/5 meaning I have 5 out of 5 arson packs I can give out, if you are out of them the timer there will tell you how much longer until you get another one. Anyone that requests a pack that you can provide will be shown with a "HELP" icon on list on the left hand side.

You can see your fatigue meter below the icons for your weapons and the boss's rage meter under her picture. As you can see the rage on this particular fight is out of control. It is going to take atleast 9 rage debuff hits to get the rage down to a point where we are able to do any damage.

Below the rage meter is the "See Combos", clicking that link will show you the weapon order you need to achieve the attack combo. They are usually different for each new boss so pay attention and make sure you get them in the right order.

Retorq's Tip: When the rage is high and you are 'bringing it down', it's best to not waste a weapon combo. Each attack with a rage debuff takes 100 rage away. Let's say the boss rage is over 600, it will take 5 hits to get it back down to a normal range where your combo's will actually do the most damage. Since the weapon combos are all 4 hits, that last hit will just remove rage and not deliver the combo damage. Keep that in mind when you have a bruiser pack active as well, no sense in wasting double damage by deraging the boss!! In that case it makes sense to have someone else derage the boss so you can deliver your damage.

As I said before it's best to coordinate with others in the real-time family chat box to request/send boss fight packs.

Just to clear up a few misunderstandings, a lot of people tell you to keep the rage low to get better fight loot, some say you have to beat the boss to get the "good" fight loot. Some say the top 5 or 10 scores get better loot then the rest. There are others that will tell you the only way to get the "good" loot is to have spent money on the game. I am here to tell you those are ALL false. I ended up walking away from a boss fight with a Green Tree Python 202att/202def as part of my collection. This was the top prize for the Lily O'Valley fight and one of the top prizes for all of the boss fights. Not only did we NOT finish beating the boss in time allotted but rage on that particular boss fight was OUT OF CONTROL. Also I did not posses a top 10 nor a top 5 score, I didn't do much on that boss fight except derage the boss when I saw the rage was high and hand out arson packs as requested.

In the end the boos fight loot is completely random. What you get may be better then what someone else got that has a higher score, did more damage, etc, etc. No use loosing sleep (or family members) over boss fights, as I always say "Play smarter, not harder".

I just got out of the shower and dried off. Here comes the shitty part.

I grab a fresh pair of undies and put them on. Suddenly, intense sporadic ballsack pain. It felt like 5 needles kept poking at different parts of my sack and I couldn't get them off. I looked down at my business and there are about 7 ants crawling all over the sack. This is when I got the fuck in the shower.

At this point, these little fuckers are hanging on for dear life, while also stinging my sack. Fuck them. I thrust my junk under the faucet and had to pick the bastards off individually. I dry off and blow dry my balls. Now to inspect the scene of the crime (my briefs, not my sack).

One fucking ant. One fucking ant remained, the other 7 hopped aboard my junk. Fuckers. I picked him off and killed him with a candle lighter. Fuck him.

The worst part is neither the persistent itching of my genitalia nor the hassle of having to hire an exterminator. No. The worst part is the fear. Every time I feel the slightest itch now, I have to shed my clothing to make sure I'm not being colonized by a horde of fucking ants. There is no peace in this house.

                                      Posted: Mon Jul 18, 2011 8:52 am

Saw this today on a HP Proliant DL380 G7 Server.

Solution

1. The server was built with the HP ESXi build, and the management agents are complaining because the iLO is not connected/configured.

2. When you connect the iLO socket to the network the alarm should change as shown below:

3. Once you have connected or disabled it you can reset the alarm:

4. Log in and configure iLO. Access via a browser (it will get a DHCP address by default, you can set a static IP address by entering the iLO setup at boot (see below)).

5. The user name is Administrator (capital A) and the password will be either on a pull out tab on the front of the server or on a sticker on top of the server chassis:

6. Log in and configure:

Disable the iLO

1. If you do not want to use the iLO then you can disable it (I can't think why you would, its a handy piece of software...)

2. Reboot the server, and when prompted press F8 to enter the iLO setup.

3. Settings > Configure:

4. These are the default settings, use the cursor keys to select and the space bar to enable/disable the options:

5. All disabled:
